Digital Consulting Advisory Session with Community Drug Advisory Council

Background

Community Drug Advisory Council's mission is to prevent substance misuse and addictions through programmes in schools and community.

Ivan Chong, Founder of Co-op Digital Consulting, had a free 1-hour digital consulting call with David Ng, Agency Head of Community Drug Advisory Council, on 16 October 2024. The call was arranged via Time Auction, which Ivan voluntarily serves as a Digital Consultant offering advice to NGOs on no-code tools integration and digital strategy.

Needs from Client

What are your goals for this consultation session?

To develop a communications strategy through website and social media, particularly YouTube for local and ethnic minorities. (We are an NGO for the prevention of substance misuse and addictions, mostly through school programmes. Now, we also look for the way to publicise through website, YouTube and Facebook. But we have no budget and talent for this.)

No budget and talent for communications tasks (such as YouTube)

What steps have you tried so far?

Used our staffs' limited talent to produce some video clip but the product is not good enough to publish, and discussed some idea how to proceed but not yet have good idea.

How would you measure the success of this session?

We get a strategy and know-how to develop our communications means.

For Digital Stratey, recommended the setup of LinkedIn Page, so as to promote the latest workshops and projects organized by the Council, as well as to outreach to potential funders

For social media channels management, recommended the use of metricool to manage different social media channels in one central place. (Except LinkedIn if free tier of metricool is to be used)
